Pall-Ex IT support technician, Jamie Porter has braved the shave for Macmillan Cancer Support and has so far raised £670.
Jamie waved goodbye to his hair in mid-July, with members of the IT department from Pall-Ex, the quality palletised freight distribution network, lined up to help shave his head.
Jamie said: “It was a tough decision to have my hair taken off, but it is for a good cause.
“I’m proud to be able to support people with cancer, and those affected by it too” he added.
"I want to say thank you to Pall-Ex for supporting me with this and to everyone who has donated to make this all worth it.”
Brave the Shave is a fundraising campaign in aid of Macmillan Cancer Support. The funds raised by “Shavers” like Jamie, help the charity to support people effected by cancer, by providing information, care and support .
Since 2015, the initiative has seen nearly £17 million raised, and this has helped thousands of people effected by cancer. Cancer is an indiscriminate disease, and in 2016 it caused 163,444 deaths in the UK alone, and will, unfortunately, affect most people in some way during their life.
