Adam Morgan: Season finale preview

Pall-Ex backed racer Adam Morgan heads to Brands Hatch this weekend for the final round of the Kwik Fit British Touring Car Championship (BTCC).

After a frustrating season, the Blackburn based Ciceley Motorsport team will be hoping that both Adam and the car are on top form to climb up the final rankings in the last hurrah of the championship.

Last time out at Silverstone, Adam suffered a bizarre issue in qualifying meaning he had it all to do come race day.

After a great recovery drive, in Race One, the day took a turn for the worse.

Tricky conditions saw Adam spin off while in the hunt for a solid points haul in Race Two and then contact with Jason Plato ended Adam’s race prematurely in Race Three.

Now, Adam enters the weekend with fire in his belly and nothing to lose, sitting in 12th position in the championship.

This weekend, the Lancastrian will be aiming for results that reflect his skill and the inherent pace of his Mercedes-Benz A-Class.

The car is well suited to the flowing Grand Prix circuit at Brands Hatch in Kent, as was shown when the championship visited for the first round in April and Adam secured a great second place in Race Three on the Indy circuit.

Saturday will be vital for Adam and the team, as a solid qualifying will mean that he can be closer to the front, away from the congested midfield.

As a result of this, he will stand less chance of having his progress ruined by contact with another car.

Adam has proved all season that if he has a clean race, he can and will be battling for podium positions, which exactly what the Pall-Ex backed man will be hoping to do in the season finale.

If you want to hear the latest news about Adam’s weekend, Adam and the Ciceley Motorsport team will regularly post updates on their social media throughout the weekend.

The final qualifying session of the year begins at 15:05 on Saturday.

You can watch Adam’s race day unfold on Sunday as all the action, as always, will be live on ITV4, with Race One starting at 11:35.
