Shunter Driver - Nights (Ellistown)

Contract Type : Permanent

Location : Pall-Ex House, Victoria Road, Ellistown, Leicestershire, LE67 1FH

Shift : Monday to Friday – 7pm-3.30am (40 hours per week)

Starting Salary: £34,424.08 pa

Starting Hourly Rate: £16.55 per hour

Duties include:

• Ensure full yard walks are completed daily

• Be aware of all movements in and out of the yard

• Concise and clear coms given to warehouse and office

• Record yard walks with the shunter folder

• Driver safely at all times around site adhering to the speed limits

• Use the equipment safely to also minimize any potential damages to trailers/units on site

• Assist in the training of other candidates in the shunters

• Provide clear information on the status of the ECO tip operation

• Ensure aware of all stand trailers on site whilst also flagging up any anomalies

• Ensure drivers arriving on site are aware of what they need to do and assist with any issues

• Assist with supporting the loading of stand trailers by effectively putting the correct trailers on the correct doors

• Flag up any on-site issues which you may spot throughout the day

• Support the secondary shunter at all times and work as a team

• Assist in the organisation of the yard by tidying up trailers on the back fence and not leaving trailer in the yard

  
  

The ideal candidate will have:

• Hold a valid Shunter license (essential)

• Attention to detail especially with regard to Health and Safety practices

• Read, understand and apply policies and procedures

• Good communication skills

• Teamwork with positive attitude
