Joining Pall-Ex Group

Allen Logistics had been a proud member of Fortec for over 20 years before joining the Pall-Ex network as a shareholder member in March 2024. Providing coverage to areas of the BT postcode, the partnership between Pall-Ex Group and Allen Logistics has improved the efficiency of consignments coming into or leaving Northern Ireland.

By becoming a shareholder member of both Pall-Ex and Fortec, Allen Logistics are now part of one of the most extensive palletised freight distribution networks in the UK and shares the forward-thinking vision of Pall-Ex Group.

Allen Logistics were recent winners of the Commercial Excellence Award at the Pall-Ex Group Annual Conference, in recognition of the growth and exceptional commercial performance of the business over the last year.

Navigating a challenging industry

Like many businesses in the sector, Allen Logistics has faced challenges around rising costs, driver availability, and ever-increasing customer expectations for speed and efficiency. Additionally, navigating post-Brexit trading complexities and meeting the demands for greener logistics has proved to be significantly difficult.

Discussing how the business has maintained its success and presence over the last six decades, James explains: “Our success has been driven by a committed team, loyal customers, continual investment into our fleet, warehousing and technology and the strong values instilled since the company began.

“Joining the Pall-Ex network, expanding into Great Britain, adding Hazchem services, and providing a full 3PL offering have been key to building long-term success at Allen Logistics.”

James adds: “A key milestone in our journey so far has been the opening of the GB depot in Lichfield, allowing us to strengthen our UK mainland presence and enhance service levels for customers. We have also diversified into specialist services and invested in over 60,000 sq. ft. of warehousing to deliver first-class 3PL solutions, particularly for FMCG clients.”

Looking to the future

Allen Logistics has big growth plans over the coming years, with a particular focus on strengthening its presence in the UK, investing in greener initiatives and further enhancing the services provided through Pall-Ex Group to ensure the success of the business as it enters its sixth decade.
