Pall-Ex has been recognised for its fundraising efforts by veterans’ mental health charity Combat Stress at a glamourous reception in London.
During its Extra Mile Awards, held at the Cavalry and Guards Club in central London, Combat Stress presented Pall-Ex with the Corporate Fundraising Group of the Year award.
This was in recognition of Pall-Ex Group’s continued support for the charity, which saw the Leicestershire based logistics company raise and donate a total of £35,000 in 2021.
Pall-Ex Group CEO Kevin Buchanan attended the Extra Mile Awards in late February and was honoured to receive the accolade.
Speaking after the event, he said: “This award is a real honour and I would like to thank everyone at Combat Stress for their recognition.
"We are proud to support this amazing charity and the incredible work they do to support veterans and I know that I speak for everyone Pall-Ex when I say that we are all looking forward to continuing our relationship for many years to come.”
Maggie Bennion is the Senior Corporate Fundraising Officer for Combat Stress and has been the main point of contact for Pall-Ex over the last few years.
She has enjoyed working with Pall-Ex and represented Combat Stress at the Group’s 25th Anniversary Awards Dinner in November 2021, where she was presented with a cheque for £25,000.
Speaking about how much the support of companies like Pall-Ex Group means to Combat Stress, Maggie said: “We were very happy to present Pall-Ex Group with the Corporate Fundraising Group of the Year award in February at our Extra Mile Awards.
“Pall-Ex Group has been a wonderful supporter of Combat Stress for the last few years and its fundraising will help us to continue supporting thousands of former servicemen and women across the UK to rebuild their lives.
"As the UK’s leading charity for veterans’ mental health, we provide specialist treatment and support to veterans with complex mental health issues arising from military service.”
Pall-Ex is continuing with its fundraising this year, by once again taking part in Combat Stress’ March in March challenge.
The team will be walking, running or marching over 10 miles throughout March and all funds raised will go to support Combat Stress’ great work.
