Pall-Ex has been informed that the closure of West Lane Road will proceed on Monday 16th July and last six weeks.
Pall-Ex has strongly objected to this closure of the road due to a number of factors including safety, cost and business disruption. For a six week period between 16th July 2018 and 27th August, the road will be off-limits to all vehicles.
The closure and diversion issued by Northwest Leicestershire District Council are outlined below and will affect all traffic accessing Pall-Ex's central hub from the Beveridge Lane end of the B585.
Trunks should be planned to minimise, where possible, disruption to your inbound scheduled arrival but we appreciate there will be a significant impact on your business. Please ensure the Pall-Ex operations team are kept up to date via 01530 239000 of any significant issues experienced on a daily basis.
Please note: the diversion from Beveridge Lane is 11.7 miles affecting all traffic arriving from the M1 motorway. Traffic coming from the A42 should join the diversion at the A511 junction with the A447 towards Ravenstone.
Our local community
Pall-Ex prides itself on providing a quality, safe freight service. Extensive meetings and communications have taken place with the appointed contractor and the local council in an attempt to obtain an alternative solution (e.g. contraflow, or exemption for Pall-Ex traffic) but these have thus far been unsuccessful. We will do everything in our power to ensure all our vehicles follow the outlined diversion and remain vigilant and cautious while driving through our local villages.
If you have any concerns or would like to discuss this further please email us.
