Lancing based logistics firm, South Link Ltd, has strengthened its team with the appointment of a new Business Development Manager (BDM).
Marc Ansell joins the team with a wealth of experience in logistics and a vast amount of local knowledge, having covered the Sussex area for a number of years.
Marc started his career in logistics at the age of 18 and has since held various roles in the sector.
Starting as a night loader, Marc soon gained his Class 2 licence and then became a multi-drop driver.
Following this, he went on to gain his Class 1 and operated in various roles, driving throughout the UK and Europe.
After this, he transitioned into the operations side of logistics, where he developed a keen understanding of network and haulage requirements.
Most recently, for the last five years, Marc has been working as a BDM in the industry.
Now South Link, which is a shareholder member of both the Pall-Ex and Fortec pallet networks, is targeting further business growth in the run-up to the festive period with Marc’s arrival.
Marc will be responsible for the growth of the business by bringing on new, quality customers as well as building strong relationships with existing clients.
Reflecting on his first few weeks with South Link, Marc comments:
“I am really excited to help South Link grow and continue to deliver quality palletised freight solutions for our customers throughout Sussex.
“I know the area well, having covered the region in various roles in the past, so I feel I am prepared for this new challenge.”

South Link is owned by Karl Reidy, who founded the business in 1991.
Karl took the decision to take on Marc, partly down to his vast experience, teamed with great knowledge of the sector and the local area.

When asked about what he was enjoying about the role so far, Marc responded:

“After speaking to Karl and the rest of the team, I believed we all had the same drive to succeed and working with them would be a pleasure.
“It was not the case of coming on board and trying to build South Link overnight. The plan is to make sure what we have is right for us and for our clients, moving in a way which would benefit South Link and its customer-base going forward.”
