Pall-Ex has unveiled plans to launch a new overnight service in London to combat the transport disruption expected this summer.
It will operate a night-time service from 12am to 6am for all postcodes likely to be affected, and is the first pallet network to announce a new service for the capital over the summer.
To ensure smooth operation, Pall-Ex’s TWINE IT system will closely monitor the traffic and event schedules, providing constant updates on address accessibility and the night-time service necessity.
“This summer, London will see the largest influx of visitors it has seen in decades,” commented Adrian Russell, managing director of Pall-Ex. “As such, it is only right to expect disruption and to prepare for it accordingly.
“We are not just talking about high street or home deliveries, but this overnight service is offering a guarantee for every single delivery in the area. Despite the celebration and interest, businesses still need to operate and we want to offer our customers peace of mind.
“Months of preparation, careful planning and the use of our comprehensive IT management system will ensure that it is business as usual for Pall-Ex, our members and our customers this summer.”
