Pall-Ex's National model
Pall-Ex operates on a "Hub and spoke" model in order to provide a national distribution service. The Principal National Partner (PNP) acts as the centrally located transshipment "Hub" – in which it performs daily transshipment functions for its members, and also manages the network of members. The members make up the "spokes" of the system and they are located in all regions of the country. Typically, members are interdependent haulier companies, who collaborate together to combine resources to provide an efficient method for the movement of goods. Members are responsible for ensuring that freight is collected from customers in their area, trunked to the hub and delivered to end- customers as required by the membership. Every night each member hauls freight collected in their local area into the hub facility. The Hub then transships the freight and loads the freight back on the member's trailers. Once loaded with delivery freight the Member's vehicle returns to its depot. On arrival, the member commences to deliver the freight received by fellow members from the previous night's transshipment and also undertakes collection activities during the day ahead ready to haul to the hub later that evening. This happens every day!
We are now in process of developing further national hub-and-spoke palletised freight networks in Europe. We are presently in negotiations at different stages with a number of potential Partners and members in the following countries: Spain and Portugal, France, Germany, Poland, Romania and Benelux (Belgium, Netherlands, Luxembourg).

Requirements:
- Financially stable
- Located in the central part of the country
- Close to good road transport infrastructure linked to all regions
- Quality driven with a progressive ethos
- Able to recruit required number of members in the setting up phase
- Willing to be flexible, and adaptable to growth and change business requirements
- Well established position in the transport sector with good relationships with other hauliers
- Experienced in distribution management and handling of palletised goods
- Able to assemble, maintain and improve a membership of hauliers
- Able to spearhead a "multi-user" network approach within country

- Have an operation based within the country
- Willing to embrace the network ethos and abide to operational requirements and guidelines

- Have palletised freight to input and are willing to grow
- Have a fleet of vehicles in good condition
- Have a good reputation within the industry as a "good operator"
- Belong to a respectable national haulage association or you are willing to join
Pall-Ex Italia
In 2009, Pall-Ex Italia became the first Pall-Ex network to be launched within mainland Europe, under a master license agreement with a leading Italian logistics company – Alberti e Santi. Pall-Ex Italia operates two strategically located hubs - one in Fiorenzuola d'Arda, Piacenza and a second near Naples to provide a time-sensitive part-load solution to Italy.
