Hilary Devey

Award winning entrepreneur Hilary Devey, is the inspirational founder, Chief Executive and Chairman of the Pall-Ex Group. Hilary was the logistics visionary who established the business in 1996 and recognised the potential of the hub and spoke palletised freight delivery model within the market.
 
Hilary’s impressive track record of achievement in the logistics industry and her philanthropic activities in the UK has enabled her to build the strong membership and customer relationships that have made Pall-Ex a success story today. 

Over recent years, Hilary has also developed a high media profiling career. In 2008, Hilary featured on Channel 4’s The Secret Millionaire programme. The show sees millionaires taking on secret identities and living undercover in deprived areas alongside locals, to find individuals and projects that they think deserve a cut of their fortune.

Hilary discovered a number of worthwhile projects including Syke - a local community centre that had hit a severe funding crisis and Back Door - an innovative music project keeping kids off the street. Her significant financial donations and offers of practical support have resulted in these projects being able to survive and flourish.

In 2011, Hilary was delighted to join the new series of Dragons' Den on BBC Two. Chosen because she is a highly experienced business woman with a proven track record and a wealth of knowledge as well as having the expertise needed to scrutinise fledgling entrepreneurs when they enter the Den.

Hilary commented; "At a time when the banks are failing to invest in British small businesses, I am proud to be able to do my part to support the next generation of UK entrepreneurs. In order to set-up Pall-Ex in the mid-nineties, I had to sell my house and car to get the start-up capital necessary to fulfil my business ambitions, as none of the banks appreciated my potential. I would have loved the opportunity to have stood before the Dragons, and I will remember my own experiences and the realities of running a business today, when choosing to support - or reject - the budding entrepreneurs joining me in the Den."
